One World Week 2012 | The World's Largest Student-run International Event
For Middle East and Africa day we not only aim to immerse participants into an authentic and creative atmosphere, but provide them with information about these two often misrepresented regions. We aim to promote the vast range of cultures and traditions of the region in various ways, making it as memorable as possible. We hope that people leave our experience with a greater understanding of the Middle East and African continent but also really enjoy what we have to offer too. Expect workshops, exhibitions and performances like no other!
Also there is 1001 Arabian Nights... in One Night which will take place in Curiositea from half 6 to half 9 on Wednesday. Curiositea will be decked out and free Arabic-themed food will be provided, with shisha for hire. We're having guest speaker Margaret Obank, publisher of an Arabic literature translation magazine, which will then be followed by music and poetry related to the theme.
