Description: Adrian joined the secretariat of the Committee on Climate Change in May 2009, where he is responsible for analytical work looking at UK greenhouse gas emission reduction potential and costs. Prior to joining the CCC secretariat, Adrian has substantial experience of energy and environmental issues – as an economist in Department for Transport, the Energy Group at DTI(now part of DECC) and in the Treasury tax team.

David Hone
Position: Senior Climate Change Advisor of Shell
Description: Senior climate change adviser for Shell, as well as the Chairman of the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA). He works closely with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and has been a lead contributor to many of its recent energy and climate change publications. He is the author of a climate change blog on behalf of Shell. He has a degree in chemical engineering and has also worked in Australia, the Netherlands.

Description: Simon Anholt has advised more than 40 nations and numerous cities and regions, on enhanced economic, political and cultural engagement with other countries. He was a member of the UK Foreign Office’s Public Diplomacy Board for 10 years, and has advised institutions including the UN World Tourism Organisation, the World Economic Forum, the World Bank, NATO, the United Nations, WIPO, the International Trade Centre, the International Olympic Committee, the International Security Assistance Force, the World Travel and Tourism Council, the European Union, the World Technology Network. Charles Tripp
Position: Author and Professor of Politics of the Middle East at SOAS University
Description: Charles Tripp is Professor of Politics with reference to the Middle East, at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. His research interests include the nature of autocracy, state and resistance in the Middle East and the politics of Islamic identity. He is the author of: Islam and the Moral Economy: The Challenge of Capitalism (Cambridge University Press, 2006); A History of Iraq (Cambridge University Press, 2007) and the joint author of Iran and Iraq at War (I.B. Tauris, 1988) and of Iran-Saudi Arabia Relations and Regional Order (IISS, 1996). He has recently completed a book examining the politics of resistance in the Middle East, The Power and the People: Paths of Resistance in the Middle East (to be published by Cambridge University Press in 2012). Ziya Meral
Position: Researcher on the Middle East, Writer and PhD candidate in Politics at the University of Cambridge
Description: Ziya Meral is a London based Turkish analyst, writer and a PhD candidate in Politics at the University of Cambridge. He is currently a Research Associate at the Foreign Policy Centre. He worked as a human rights advocate with a focus on religious freedom in the Middle East and North Africa, ran advocacy campaigns and lobbied various governments on individual cases and thematic issues. He delivered talks and lectures in leading academic institutions and conferences around the world, spoke at briefings and consultancies at the UK House of Commons and House of Lords and the U.S. Congress. Nicola Pratt

Description: Prior to becoming a Professor, Nicola lived and worked in Egypt for several years on projects concerning human rights and democratisation and speak Arabic. She is also in the process of creating the Warwick Database of Arabic Resources, which will focus in its first phase on Egypt, Syria and Labanon and will then be expanded to include Lybia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Algeria.

Stephen Pattison

Description: Stephen Pattison was appointed Director and CEO of ICC UK at the start of 2011. Prior to taking up this position, he was Managing Director of International Business Development at Dyson. James Perrott

Description: James is a Senior Manager in PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal’s Global Immigration Team working closely with the Head of the Team. The Team has 600 immigration practitioners in 118 countries. A UK qualified solicitor, James has had experience with a wide range of corporate immigration issues and has been advising on immigration matters for more than ten years. He manages several large corporate accounts and provides strategic immigration consultancy advice to a variety of major companies, particularly in the financial and consulting sectors. He has supported a number of high profile companies through the sponsor licence application process, the introduction of the new Points Based System (PBS) and has worked with them to ensure compliance under the new system and in particular, with regard to the requirements under the new illegal working legislation.

Alp Mehmet
