History

One World Week initially began in 1995 as a one-day event intended to celebrate the cultural diversity present at the University of Warwick and proved to be an enormous success. Since then the event has grown in both size and reputation due to the dedication of thousands of student volunteers, the support of the University of Warwick and its Student Union and through the enthusiastic participation of over 20,000 visitors!

Consequently, One World Week is today recognised as the World's Largest Student-run International Event. In order to maintain this prestigious title, each and every year even more energy and enthusiasm is poured into the week to enable guests and participants to enjoy an unforgettable nine days.

One World Week 2008 intends to build on the success of previous years with the four key elements of celebration: Forum, Arts, Sports and Festival. There will also be a number of high profile speakers and artists at this year's events On previous occasions One World Week has had the honour of listening to speakers such as:
