With 400,000 lives lost, 2.5 million people driven out of their homes and 200,000 living in refugee camps, the Darfuri crisis is a statistical nightmare. No wonder the former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, described the state of Darfur as "nothing short of hell on earth". For more than seven years, the pro-government Janjaweed militias have been systematically killing and harassing local populations to an extent that compelled the United States Congress to label the crisis as genocide. Sadly, too much has been said and too little done. The One World Forum addresses this crisis in the company of an inspirational physician whose life is dedicated to the treatment and rehabilitation of those tormented Darfuris.
