Passage to India
India. The 1920s. A land of rich culture and colour. A land in the grip of change.
A recent voyage from England brings Adela Quested, intent on discovering the 'real India' before marrying Chandrapore's local magistrate, to this enchanting and vibrant land.
She agrees to go to the Marabar caves with Aziz, a young, charming Indian Doctor unaware of the passions and dark fears their visit will unearth.
After the visit, the fragile structure of Anglo-Indian relations collapses as Aziz is brought to trial for assault.
This atmospheric, mystical novel about colonial British India by E.M. Forster is adapted for the stage with humour and passion by Martin Sherman, the acclaimed author of 'Bent' and 'Rose'.
