Seachd: The Inaccessible Pinnacle
The first feature film made in Scots Gaelic, this is a moving story of a boy and his grandfather (played by the renowned Gaelic poet Angus Peter Campbell). Aonghas loses his parents when they try to climb the "inaccessible pinnacle", a rocky summit in the Isle of Skye. Along with his siblings, he goes to live with his grandfather, who seeks to soothe the young boy by telling him folktales. The film leads us through the intricacies of this relationship and Aonghas' efforts to overcome his parents' loss. Lush cinematography makes this piece of cinematic history hard to miss. The producer, Christopher Young, will be joining us to discuss the film after the screening.
